  1. We now have a small flock of hen: Big, Peacock, Goldie and Lover. We've had them for 2 whole weeks, but not one egg so far. The friend who gifted the hens to us said it might be the extreme heat in the Mid-Atlantic right now. Is this the answer? Is it too hot for them to lay eggs?

    Also, we put sufficient hay into the next boxes, but they are dragging it out of the coop into the run area. What's this about? We don't feel like we over stuffed with the hay, so we are curious as to what they are doing with the hay.
